•Istanbul Fire Brigade has gone through many phases till now since 1714 in which the former fire brigade called “tulumbacı ocağı” was established. It was handed over to the municapalities in 1923.

After it had served as a directorate for a long time, it was turned into the Department of Fire Brigade in 1997.
