Seminar of Leadership and Local Government in Municipalities – Methods of Staff Employment, organized by Union of Turkey Municipalities (UTM), Union of Marmara Municipality (UMM) and Istanbul Aydın Universities, was performed in The Marmara Hotel, Taksim. Besides Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and President of UTM Kadir Topbaş, Vice President of UMM and Mayor of Zeytinburnu Murat Aydın, Mayor of Beyoğlu Ahmet Misbah Demircan, mayors of cites and districts in general of Turkey and Istanbul Aydın University, Chairman of Board of Trustees Mustafa Aydın attended to Opening Ceremony of Seminar.

Declaring that technological developments, globalization and process of democratization increase importance of local governments, Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Kadir Topbaş who spoke in the ceremony said that “Now, there are local governments that move their country to future. The countries which authorizes to local government, reach to success.”
Mayor Topbaş who emphasized that local governments which exchange opinions with citizens, reach to success, said that UCGL is a good example for unions of local governments.”

“We work with Universities and Nongovernmental Organizations”

“Results of authorization that were given by Local government approach which started with our Honorable Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and serious reforms, started by our governments, can be seen. With this approach, UTM and UMM exposes new evolutions and developments. Now also our citizens have the right to speak and senses of our citizens are reflected to our government approach. When we govern to Istanbul where financial capital of Turkey, we are in close relation with universities and Nongovernmental Organizations.”
 
We say “study with science” to successful students.

Mayor Topbaş who attracted attentions that important part of civilization race is strong government team, said that “These staffs must think globally and follow to world well. As İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality, we invite to successful young people to work with us. Also in our staff, approximately, 100 young friends were sent to abroad for master and doctorate program.”

The mayor in cooperation with his team is successful.

Kadir Topbaş who said that “If a mayor is not in cooperation with his team, the government cannot reach to success”, declared that. I always say this. There are close relations with citizens in the base of success. Sometime I eat lunch with my staffs in the cafeteria of municipality.
