21st East Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel Exhibition (EMITT) 2017 has opened its doors to the visitors at Tüyap Fair Convention and Congress Centre with the participations of H.E. Nabi Avcı, Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey and Mayor of Istanbul Kadir Topbaş today.
H.E. Nabi Avcı, Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey; Mr. Taleb D. Rifai, the Secretary-General of the United Nations' World Tourism Organization; Mr. Kadir Topbaş, the Mayor of Istanbul; Mr. Vasip Şahin, the governor of Istanbul; Ms. Kraus-Winkler, President of HOTREC (Hotels Restaurants & Cafés in Europe); Mr. Norbert Fiebig, President of the German Travel Association (DRV) as well as some deputies, mayors and domestic and foreign sector representatives participated in the opening ceremony of the EMITT 2017.
EMITT is the largest travel and tourism exhibition in Turkey. The event is supported by the Turkish Republic’s Culture and Tourism Department, in partnership with TUROFED (Turkey Hoteliers Federation) and TYD (Tourism Investment Association). Participants include Turkey’s eminent travel agencies, tour operators and hotels.
EMITT is the central meeting place for international tour operators to meet with the Eurasian travel trade.
This year’s exhibition is hosting over 4,550 participants from 70 countries representing tour operators, travel agencies, hotels, airlines, cruise operators, national tourist boards, transportation services, medical tourism providers and other tourism institutes. EMITT is the 5th largest tourism exhibition in the world that spans 11 halls of the TUYAP exhibition center in Beylikdüzü, Istanbul.
