The new line - Kartal-Pendik-Tavşantepe Metro Line with the total length reaching 4.5 kilometers, which is the continuation of the Kadıköy-Kartal Metro Line, was put into service at 14.00 p.m.
All stations on the Metro line have escalator entrances and elevators for those with obstacles. All stations on the D-100 Highway route have entry and exit on the north and south sides and underpasses between these entrances and exits.
When the Kartal-Pendik-Tavşantepe Metro Line was taken into service by the official opening ceremony; Sabiha Gökçen Airport Metro Line with Tavşantepe Station, Metrobus Station, Marmaray and Ayrılıkçeşme Station, Göztepe-Ataşehir-Ümraniye Subway Line with Yenisahra Station, Bostancı-Dudullu Metro Line with Kozyatağı Station is happening.
The test drive was continued on the Kartal-Pendik-Tavşantepe metro, which started in May 2013. The Kartal-Pendik-Tavşantepe metro, where the test runs were successfully completed, is followed by Kartal station followed by Yakacık, Pendik and Tavşantepe stations.
The transportation time from Pendik to Kadıköy on the new subway line will also decrease to 35 minutes. With the connection of Marmaray and Metrobus on the subway line, uninterrupted access will be provided to the central areas like Pendik, Taksim and Atatürk Airport. The aim is to extend the line to Tuzla. It has 16 passenger stations with Kadıköy-Kartal Metro Tunnel which opened in 2012 and has a line length of 21.7 kilometers. The number of the stations will reach 19 when the Kartal-Kaynarca metro is also included and the length of the line is 26.5 kilometers.
