Mustafa Tahmaz was born in 1971, Giresun-Görele. He completed his elementary eduaction in Sakarya. He graduated from Istanbul University-Social Sciences Vocational School with an Associate Degree in 1994. He earned his bachelor's degree from Eskişehir Anatolian University-Faculty of Business in 1998. Tahmaz began working as a Municipal Police Clerk at Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality -Department of Municipal Police in 1995. He served at various units as the Deputy Poice Chief. In 1999, he was assigned to the Department of Review Committee as a supervisor. Tahmaz had been working as the Municipal Police Director since 2004, untill he became the head of the Department of Municipal Police on December, 8 2006. Mustafa Tahmaz is married with three children
