Mr. Mehmet Kahveci was born in Kahramanmaraş,Turkey in 1956. After he completed his primary, secondary and high school education in Kahramanmaraş, he received his undergraduate degree from Yıldız Technical University (YTU), Faculty of Architecture in 1986. Later, Mr. Kahveci worked as a freelance architect until 1994. He started his professional career at BELBİM Co., a subsidiary of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality in the same year (1994). Mr. Kahveci began working at Beyoğlu’s District Municipality in April 1995.He served as a director of Domiciles at Beyoğlu’s District Municipality between the years of 1999 and 2004.

After serving as the Deputy-Director at the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality’s Directorate of Parks Gardens and Green Fields for nearly one year in 2004, he also worked as the Deputy-Director of  BİMTAŞ, [the Bosphorus Engineering Consultancy Services Inc.], which is a subsidiary of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality between the years of 2005 and 2009.

Mr. Kahveci also served as the branch director of City Planning Workshop (İŞAT) between 2009 and 2012. He was appointed as a Director of Housing and Residence Life Director at the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality since April 16th, 2012.

Mr. Kahveci is married with four children.
