Celal Sevencan was born in Trabzon, Of, on 1st July 1954. He completed his secendory education in Trabzon and he completed his higher education in Samsun, 1981.
Sevencan started his first profession as a teacher at Bitlis Central Atatürk Elementary School, on 18th 01 1982. He worked as a teacher, deputy head administrator, administrator at various schools in Bitlis and Samsun.
He was nominated as Samsun Tekkeköy District Municipality Mayor in the local elections of 1994. After the elections, in the same year, Sevencan started to serve as the Editorship Administrator at Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. He worked at the Directorate of Cemetaries for 5 years, and afterwards, he was assigned to the Department of Fire Brigade as a programmer in 1999. Sevencan was assigned to be the Administrator of Social and Administrative Affairs on 01.05.2001, and was assigned to Department of Solid Waste Administration as an administrator, through definitive appointment, on 17.11.2004. Sevencan was assigned to become the Director of City Orchestra on 04.08.2006. He is married with 5 children.
Celal Sevencan who has interested in music since high school terms, base area of interest is Turkish Folk Music. Celal Sevencan who has more time for music after he was appointed as Director of City Orchestra and plays “baglama” (instrument with three double strings), has 44 melodies which are 36 Turkish Folk Music,4 Turkish Art Music, 3 hymns and a march. Sevencan who has already gone on music workings, sometimes takes the stage in T.F.M Solo concert in the concept of Directorate of City Orchestra.
His “Aşığım ben Türkiye’min” working is placed in “Hediyem Olsun” album of Orhan Hakalmaz. “Istanbul March” which was written by him, has already performed by Band of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and Janissary Band (as Janissary Band) in concerts.
