Ahmet Ağırman was born in 1961, Erzurum, Oltu. He completed his primary and secondary education in Oltu and completed his high school education in Kars Imam Hatip High School. In 1985, he graduated from Istanbul Technical University Engineering Faculty as civil engineer. Until  1997, he worked in free market. He made Erzurum Province General Councillorship, Province Permanent Councillorship and Plan-Budget and Financial Affairs Commission Headship.

In 1997, he started to work in İSTON Co.  With foundation of BİMTAŞ, he passed that company. In 1998, He worked as BİMTAŞ İSKİ Coordinator. After earthquake of 1999 he worked as Commission President of  Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Earthquake Damage Assessment Crisis Desk. He worked in preparation of Istanbul Earthquake Master Plan and foundation of Disaster Coordination Center. Since 2003, he performed as Project Director in the most important projects of BIMTAŞ which are urban transformation projects of Zeytinburnu, Küçükçekmece and Fatih.
Ağırman who was appointed as BIMTAŞ General Director by November 2007, is married with four children
