Ertan Keleş was born in 1976, Gümüşhane. He completed his elementary education in 1987 at 50. Yıl Primary School, his secondary education in 1990 at Yeni Levent Secondary School, and high school education in 1993 at Istanbul Fatih Fen College. He graduated from Middle East Technical University-Faculty of Construction Engineering. Keleş is married, and currently serves as the General Director of Istanbul Tourism and Health Investments Administration and Trade Corporation.

Keleş speaks fluent English, and is married with two children.
