Fahrettin Yıldız was born in 1966, Elazığ. He graduated from Elazığ Atatürk High Schhol and Istanbul Technical University-Electronics and Communication Engineering. After graduation, he went to Germany for 6 months, in order to continue his education.

Yıldız started his career in 1993, as a data processing personnel at Sultanbeyli Municipality, and he was appointed to IMM-Directorate of Data Processing, as Deputy Director in 1995. He participated at seminars and courses on various software and systems like Oracle and Microsoft. He completed his e-MBA at Kavrakoğlu Management Institute. Yıldız participated at fairs both local and international, on information technologies. Fahrettin Yıldız was appointed as the Director at the Directorate of Archives on 07.12.2006. He is married with three children, and speaks English, German, and Arabic.
