As the #\ producer of city amenities and concrete pipes in Turkey, İSTON is well known throughout the region for high quality concrete productions. Its city amenity products have made a significant contribution to the beautification and habitability of Istanbul, and can be found on streets and in parks as far away as Greece, Bulgaria, Italy, Russia and New York City.

Objectives:

Established in 1986, İSTON's mission is to produce and meet the concrete and city amenity demands of the greater Istanbul metropolitan area.

Operations:

In its 4 production plants, İSTON produces concrete elements and ready mixed concrete, city amenities, prefabricated buildings and precast construction elements, in addition to offering a range of technical counseling and engineering services.

-Concrete Pipes - İSTON produces a range of concrete pipes and steel reinforced concrete pipes with diameters of 200-600mm and 700-3600 mm respectively. Pipes are made of sulfate resistant concrete and are leakproof. İSTON claims 80% of the market in concrete pipes in Istanbul.

-City Amenities - İSTON offers over 100 designs for city amenities, ranging from benches, tables, flower planters, bus shelters, trash bins, bollards, and tree circumference grids to playground equipment, pergolas and gazebos. İSTON has an exclusive contract with the Belitalia company in Italy to produce a line of patented Italian-designed city amenities in addition to its own original designs. İSTON also produces l lie wooden elements used in its city amenities and garden furniture. İSTON enjoys 70% of the city amenity market in Istanbul.

-Paving Stones and Barriers - İSTON produces 21 different styles, colors and tex tures of paving stones with designs like honeycomb, leaf, cube, moon, etc. 9000 square meters of paving stones are produced per day. İSTON also produces a range of 15 street bordering elements and barriers. 4400 square meters of barriers are produced daily.

- Ready Mixed Concrete - İSTON produces over 12,000 cubic meters of laboratory quality controlled ready mixed concrete per year.

-Prefabricated Construction Elements - İSTON produces prefabricated industrial building panels and other elements.

-Project and Technical Consulting Services - İSTON provides consulting services such as computer-aided architectural and static project works, urban environmental design and development, and city amenity design.

-İSTON has completed a number of significant projects including construction of over 30 sea bus stations, 3 public bread company factories, and a number of community sports complexes. 

Future Goals:

İSTON aims to increase exports - especially of its world-class city amenity products - and will continue to focus on building an international reputation for quality and efficiency.

-In 2001, İSTON's exports totaled $300,000. Within the coming years, it plans to raise that
number to $2 million.

-İSTON, in partnership with Greek investors, will establish a production plant in Larissa, Greece, to produce and distribute its line of city amenities, paving stones and barriers.

-İSTON will work towards expanding its market, focising on the city amenity line and targeting universities and other campus areas.

-İSTON will continue to research and develop new production techniques and materials to improve the effectiveness and quality of its concrete pipes.
