Objectives
BELTUR’s objectives are the construction, purchase, hiring and operation of all kinds of hotels, motels, hostels, restaurants, campings, and holiday inns, as well as the purchase, hire and operation of all kinds of sanitary facilities with and without beds like hospitals, diagnostic and therapy clinics, medical labs and dispensers. BELTUR today has limited her operational area to historic sites.
The company completed her initial phase in 1996, entering operation on 1 January 1997. Further bock, the Metropolitan Municipality had granted operation of historic sites to the Turing Institution Per protocol in 1982. In 1992 Turing’s operations were allowed for a second term. In 1995 the Metropolitan Municipality declared that she ill not sign a new protocol with Turing for a third term. Turing was asked to leave the historic sites. The Municipality took over the sites, renovated them and granted operations to BELTUR.
The new municipal administration, aiming to embrace the people, to break bureaucratic walls and to render Istanbul a city worth to live in, intended to put the historical sites to the service of all the people, not just of tourists and wealthy people. The new administration respecting the citizens and history of Istanbul, renovated these historic sites remaining faithful to their originals and opened them up to the service of people.
Operations
The sites, attracting 30,000 visitors annually, offer magnificent Ottoman ambience associated with the rich Ottoman cuisine and qualified service at suitable prices. BELTUR engaged in many advertisement campaigns to introduce her services to masses of people. Service quality was top priority since the day of establishment which brought the “ISO 9002 Quality Mark” to the company.
Hıdiv Kasrı:
(The Castle of Governor General)-Çubuklu Beykoz: The last Ottoman governor general (Hıdiv) to Egypt had this castle built between 1904-1907. It has 2 turrets, 35 rooms, 4 halls, 2 entrance halls with a capacity of serving 450 people as a restaurant, cafeteria and congress hall for activities like gatherings, cocktails, and meals. Until October 1999 a total of 636,314 people visited the castle.
Malta Köşkü:
(The Malta Pavilion), Yıldız Parkı, Beşiktaş: Built in 1870s as a mansion sightseeing and intelligence residence, derives its name from the stones imported from Malta for its construction. With its two storeys it can serve 150 people as a restaurant and cafeteria. Until October 1999 a total of 342,229 people visited the pavilion.
Çadır Köşkü:
(The Tent Pavilion), Yıldız Parkı, Beşiktaş: Built as a sightseeing residence during the reign of Ottoman Sultan Abdulaziz. It is a state-of-the-art site because of its stone ornaments. After renovation it was opened up for service as a cafeteria for 60-80 people. Until 1999 a total 83,944 people visited the pavilion
Sarı Köşk:
(The Yellow Pavilion), Emirgan Korusu, Sarıyer: Built between 1871-1878 by the family of Ottoman governor general to Egypt. Ornaments based on flower patterns cover the ceiling while hand made ornaments outside give the building the outlook of a Turkish birdhouse. It serves as restaurant and cafeteria. Until October 1999 a total 233,455 people visited the pavilion.
Pembe Köşk:
(The Pink Pavilion), Emirgan Korusu, Sarıyer: Built by the family of Ottoman governor general to Egypt the pavilion consists of two storeys, 10 rooms, an entrance hall, a kitchen and a greater hall. This pink colored seaside pavilion serves as restaurant and cafeteria.
Çamlıca Köşkleri
Küçük Çamlıca:
Çamlıca Korusu içinde yer alan Sofa, Cihannüma ve Topkapı köşkleri BELTUR Tesisleri’nin en genç üyeleridirler.
Osmanlı’nın ince mimarisinin günümüz estetiği ile birlikte uygulandığı birer örnektirler. Kartal, Kadıköy, Eminönü, Üsküdar ve Beşiktaş’ı içine alan manzaraya sahiptirler. Yine Çamlıca Korusu içinde yer alan, Su Köşkü de yaz aylarında havuzu, şelalesi ve diğer köşkler gibi kafeterya menüsü ile hizmet vermektedir.
Köşkler ayrıca nişan, düğün, toplantı vb. organizasyonlar için halkın hizmetine sunulmaktadır.
Paşalimanı Tesisleri:
This facility which has recently opened up is in the Fethi Paşa Korusu (Grove), Üsküdar having a beautiful sight of the Bosphorus. The beauty of Bosphorus combined with the traditional quality of Beltur wins appreciation of Istanbul’s citizens.
Besides these historical sites, castles and pavilions, Beltur also serves the handicapped in the “Florya Summer Camp for the Handicapped” in 15 days periods since 1997.The number of people visiting Beltur’s sites rose from a 480,000 in 1997 to some 561,925 in 1998, and to 1,298,976 in the first 10 months of 1999.
Mas a prerequisite of the ISO 9002 Mark Beltur pays much attention to hygiene, with his own food engineers making regular checks, while also independent institutions regularly check Beltur. The goal is to please the customers with healthy services and products.
In 1999 Beltur made thorough analysis on customers questionnaires applying all the suggestions made if ever applicable. A toll free customer line of 0800-261-7606 is the new service.
